DVD ALERT : THE WOMAN'S ANGLE ... REGION 2 .. NETWORK .. NOVEMBER 10TH 2014 ..

 
Delighted to announce one of Joan's earliest film's from 1952,  'The Woman's Angle'  will get a region 2 dvd release from the wonderful Network Label on November 10th.. Will feature a pre-order link when available... This was Joan's 2nd film appearance, she was briefly seen in the 1951 comedy 'Lady Godiva Rides Again' in the fleeting role of a beauty contestant. In 'The Woman's Angle' she plays a Greek maid named Marina and is essentially her first credited role. The film also stars Lois Maxwell who went on to star in the Bond films as Miss Moneypenny..

This romantic drama, co-written and directed by former Gainsborough Pictures kingpin Leslie Arliss, stars Edward Underdown as a man under uncomfortable scrutiny from the three women who know him best; the film also features a brief early appearance by Joan Collins, and a nightclub number from singer Teddy Johnson. The Woman’s Angle is featured here in a brand-new transfer from the original film elements in its as-exhibited theatrical aspect ratio.In the divorce hearing at the Royal Courts of Justice, the judge is summing up the case of Mansell v. Mansell and van Rhyne. As she listens, Enid Mansell lets her thoughts roam back to the time when she first met her husband, and to the events which led to the break-up of their marriage...
