  3. Didn't SHE approach the producers of 'Dancing with Stars' in the U.S. and they turned her down?? Who'd have ever thought it!

  4. Yes! I heard that too, also the desperate hinting about how wonderful Desperate Housewives was and how she would love to be in it. Again rejected, now guess what? Joan thinks it isn't as good as it used to be.....!

  5. She's never had a strong body of past work to compare to, but her professional decisions over the past few years have been particularly bad and most misguided - the German soap, pantomime, crappy product endorsements and, worse of all, whoring her autograph at the autograph fairs in Birmingham and the U.S. (£20 a shot?!) Then again, supporting the lifestyle she was accustom to as an A-list celeb, plus that of a husband who hasn't done a day's work since he met her (though still states on his CV that he's a 'theatre producer), cannot be cheap. Isn't there something a bit obscene about a man in his 40s working his 77 year old wife like a Shire Horse whilst not bringing any money in himself? I'm sure there must be laws about it in some civilised countries!! Pensioner abuse!

  6. I know for a fact that her agent strongly advised her against doing the autograph fair (in Birmingham of all places!) It massively cheapened her worth. Once placed along side the likes of Elizabeth Taylor.....now she will be standing shoulder to shoulder with a er...green plastic duck called Orville!

  7. Anonymous, if you really think Joan is cheap and way past her prime, maybe you shouldn't visit this blog on a regular basis. I believe very strongly that at 77, Ms Collins can do whatever she wants and still get away with it. If she wants to appear in a german daytime soap and laugh all the way to the bank with her paycheck, let her do it ;-) She's a working actress and it's quite amazing that she is STILL working and yet she's no Meryl Streep, we all know that.
